Since part of my family lives in Wyoming, I’ve spent much of my life developing a passion for the outdoors — and, of course, for the design and use of outdoor clothing and equipment.

From climbing to backpacking, and from the Appalachians to the Rocky Mountains, I’ve done it all — and loved doing so while wearing and carrying protective gear from nearly every major outerwear brand you can find at REI. This relatively short lifetime of outdoor exploration has built a deep love and appreciation for both the outdoors and the gear that enables it.
