In 2024 I was commissioned to design an Emblem for an Indian born streetwear company based out of LA called "LAotus." Along with the main logo, I designed multiple graphics for use on T-shirts & Hoodies. I was given a week, & full creative control.
To begin my process I delved deep into India's iconography and culture, with a focus on the Lotus flower.
The only restrictions I had were :
My logo needed to be black and white
&
My logo needed to be legible
Here are my initial Explorations
A more straightforward Professional look w/ organic shape
An emphasis on the Lotus's growth pattern
We agreed the left submissions hit a professional but organic look that worked perfectly for the brand.
And decided on the main logo after a few more tweaks.
I then moved on to develop Graphics for use in printing on t-shirts and hoodies.
Here are two initial submissions.
After discussion, we decided I needed to push these further, & so I did. Here are some final submissions. I decided to add some flare & color as a representation of the colorful culture of India.
With their creation, I placed each design on a selection of garments.
